Nexus is a biannual journal edited by the Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Integrated Arts at the Universidad del Valle. With a seventeen-year trajectory, its main objective is to publish empirical and theoretical research articles on social communication, design, performing and visual arts, music, and architecture, reflecting the academic units that comprise the affiliated faculty. The journal also aims to serve as a dissemination platform for research and reflections on contemporary cultural processes, including studies on arts, technologies, and media, and their political, economic, and social implications.
Nexus is a cost-free publication, peer-reviewed, and open-access. It demands original contributions and respects plural and diverse perspectives on the topics of interest. It favors the publication of research articles under the IMRaD model (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) and accepts contributions for its alternative sections: non-research-based reflective documents, graphical and photographic works, interviews, and reviews.
Nexus publishes two issues or editions per year, in July and December, through a continuous publication process.
