The ethos of Néstor Helí, the watchman of Quac El Noticiero

Abstract

The program of political humor and meta-journalistic Quac el noticero (RTI Television, 1995-1997) created several characters that represented the popular sectors -with political opinion- at the juncture of the political corruption scandal known as “the eight thousand process”. Our thesis is that these characters constitute one of Quac's greatest contributions to the news of the history of political fiction on Colombian television since they were made not to laugh at them but to laugh with them at the corrupt political class. Among these
characters we distinguish Dioselina Tibaná, Néstor Helí, Jhon Lenin and Mr. Jaramillo. Our purpose in this essay is to analyze the ethos of the Colombia Building goalkeeper, Néstor Helí.
