Latin America and the national illusion. Liberals and conservatives: history, tension and disputes during the consolidation of the national project of the 19TH century

The present article intends to analyze the relationship that liberals and conservatives maintained with the construction of the national project in Latin America. From their interests, both factions maintained particular relationships with religion and with secularization; socio-historical contexts that framed not only conceptual differences but also differences regarding the elaboration of a national policy that contemplates the economic, the civil and the cultural.
