An analytic view of sound experimentation in the escuela de comunicación at the universidad del valle
Main Article Content
This paper derives from a creation-research project entitled Univérsono-Laboratorio of sound experimentation, at its first stage, conducted between 2013 and 2016. It endeavours to analyse formats and products developed in the diverse courses of the Radio Workshop that have been offered during a time span between 1995 and 2015, in the Escuela de Comunicación Social at the Universidad del Valle. From a conceptual, structural and comparative perspective of the levels of experimentation, in contrast to narration and musicality, it is analysed 559 sound products, divided into seven formats established in the above-mentioned courses. This analysis is confronted to and complemented with interviews of professors responsible for the teaching design and exercise. Among other things, it aims to offer an understanding of how sound experimentation has been interpreted from the teaching practice and its relationship with universal precepts and concepts that determine the sound art and artistic radio. On the other hand, it attempts to clarify some findings that might contribute to consolidate this practice in the teachinglearning process of the radio.
