This article, framed within the project of research-creation entitled Univérsono - Laboratorio de experimentación sonora (Univérsono - Laboratory of sound experimentation), presents a historic review of the processes of teaching and production of experimental radio, developed in the Radio Workshop of the School of Communications at the University of Valle (Cali, Colombia). Starting from conceptual approaches to the relationship between radio and art, the following establishment of concepts such as radio-art and sound art is introduced. Subsequently, this text presents a historical review of the ways in which teaching practices promoted a scenario for constant sound experimentation, which aims to be coherent with the pedagogical project of the undergraduate program of Communication at the University of Valle –maintaining coherence with the academic training in research, journalism, fictional narratives, and processes of social mobilization. Overall, the teaching practices are discussed, addressing pedagogic strategies, course syllabuses, production processes, supervisions of degree dissertations, foundation of collectives, and the establishment of physical spaces for the creation and analysis of experimental radio.
