Movements at a distance (first materialization)
Main Article Content
Movements at a distance reveals the contradictions attached to the archiving process of the images filmed by the Acevedo brothers, pioneers of the newsreel format in Colombia. Contradictions such as the randomness of the reediting process of the images in order to be a part of the official catalogues or the views imposed on them by the archivers; an official stance that often mixes up images of death with images of social movements. How to insert in that narrative that links manifestations with death the profane image of a carnival? By answering that, this project offers a way to reedit the official story to change its ending, to outline possible futures.
