Trans women in Latin American documentary film: the case of Miss Maria, the skirt of the mountain (Señorita María: La fala de la montaña ) and Naomi Campbel
Main Article Content
In recent years, a significant number of documentary productions have been developed around the lives of Latin American trans women. Knowing that the development of Latin American documentary filmmaking has been associated throughout its history with a transnational production, this article will address two documentary productions around Latin American trans women inscribed in this context: Miss Maria: the skirt of the mountain (Señorita María, la falda de la montaña (2017)) and Naomi Campbel (2013). In order to analyze the mobilized narratives in these films, queer theories, intersectional theories, and gender coloniality will be taken as theoretical references.
