Transmedia storytelling and non-fictional web documentary analysis: case study miParamo

This qualitative research has an emphasis on case study which aims to analyze the transmedia storytelling miPáramo that is supported by a non-fictional web documentary. The analysis shows the degree of impact obtained during the five months of research. These impacts correspond to the demands of the media consumption of the target audiences. Its innovative character and connection with online consumption tools demonstrate the possibilities provided by the transmedia storytelling and non-fictional web documentaries
in the participation, interaction and co-creation of content in campaigns related to environmental issues. The conclusion that was reached was that the use of transmedia narrative with the support of non-fictional web documentaries, allows for the empowerment of the population, and their participation in the development or co-creation of content. This could be determined by the user's previous experiences and their empathy with the central theme of the transmedia storytelling.
