This paper is a sequential analysis of the documentary Vices in the kitchen, potatoes whistle (Vicios en la cocina, las papas silban) (1978) by the director, feminist and former member of the Cine Mujer Collective, Beatriz Mira, in which domestic work issue is addressed. The purpose of this work is to trace the links between the Mexican feminist thinking of the “new wave” around domestic work and the documentary filmmaking developed by CUEC students during the 1970s.
