This reflective article, which derives from the research entitled Spoken portrait of Augusto Rivera, explores the life and work of one of the most important artists in the mid to late 20th century in Colombia. It answers the following questions: who was Rivera? How was his creation process? What was his national and international influence, and why has he been forgotten?
